ABOUT ME

ALINA SOKOLOVA //

Alina Sokolova was born in Russia. She has a German father and Italian mother.
Already from the age of five she attended piano-lessons with Vladimir Ivanovitch. He gave her at an early age the love for classical music.

At the age of seven Alina was admitted to the Municipal Musical School in Wolgograd.

For seven years she was educated in piano-playing and solfège. Alina continued her study. For the next four years she studied conductorship at the Institute for Music and Art - from the pedagogue Vladislav Kirilov and professor Ludmilla Ljublov. She graduated ‘cum laude’ on conductorship.

The school-directorate had chosen her as their best student, which provided Alina an entrance-examination to the Conservatory of Moscow.

She studied for six years Conductorship at the Conservatory of Moscow. Her teachers were amongst others Professor Boris Baranoff and Professor Michael Rostowski

After she achieved her certificate of qualification at the Conservatory of Moscow Alina had to offer a compensation in return to the State. This was a common thing at that time for everybody who had studied at the State’s expenses. Graduated as a qualified conductor, she became an inspector for music-education at five high-schools in the Soviet Union.
After three years, she fulfilled the compensation-return and Alina was free to go.

In 1991 she moved to the Nederlands and quicly mastered the Dutch language and took up her profession as a conductor.
